FREE Multi Agency Event on Alcohol Awareness & Brief Interventions for Newhall.
Supporting the Thriving Communities Initiative. This course is specifically for professionals and volunteers who have contact with people who live in Newhall and the surrounding areas.
This one day course covers:
- Facts about alcohol, myths, units and safe limits
- The physical effects of alcohol both short term and long term
- Definitions such as binge drinking, high risk and dependency
- Brief Interventions
- Support available and how to refer
Location: The Old Post Centre, High Street, Newhall, Swadlincote, DE11 0HX
Parking: There is parking to the rear of the Centre
Lunch: There will be a break for Lunch and there is a cafe downstairs
Please arrive at 9.15am for a prompt 9.30am start. Finish 3.15pm.
This event is a great opportunity to network with professionals and volunteers from other organisations and share ideas about the possible ways to approach the growing problem of alcohol misuse amongst your clients/service users. The training is very interactive and informal and we hope that you will also have a bit of fun too! Booking your courseOnce you have chosen the date of the course you would like to attend, you will be asked to complete your contact information. Please fill this in as accurately as possible to reserve your place. You will then receive an email confirming this. If you do not receive this, please get in touch via phone 01246 206514 or email firstname.lastname@example.org . Many of our training courses are free to front line professionals who work with the public who live in Derbyshire, however this excludes Derby City. Details of which courses are free and which are chargeable will be made clear on our website before booking.
Cancellations:If you need to cancel your place please do so as soon as possible. A substitute may be enrolled in your place if you are unable to attend provided we are informed of this so that the correct booking form can be completed. If you cancel your place within 2 working days of the course (without substituting it) or fail to inform us you will not be attending we reserve the right to charge an administration fee.
Your Contact DetailsDerbyshire Alcohol Advice Service will use the contact and participant details you provide during the registration process to provide you with further details regarding this Training Course. We will send you and evaluation request approx 3 months post training. We may also include you on our mailing list, which we use to contact you from time to time with information on our other activities and events. You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time. We will not provide your details to a third party without your prior consent.
