FREE Multi Agency Event on Alcohol Awareness & Brief Interventions for Shirebrook.
Supporting the Thriving Communities Initiative. This course is specifically for professionals and volunteers who have contact with people who live in Shirebrook.
This one day course covers:
- Facts about alcohol, myths, units and safe limits
- The physical effects of alcohol both short term and long term
- Definitions such as binge drinking, high risk and dependency
- Brief Interventions
- Support available and how to refer
Location: Shirebrook Children’s Centre, Park Road, Shirebrook, NG20 8JR
Parking: There is free parking at the Children’s Centre and nearby on street parking.
Please arrive at 9.45am for a prompt 10.00 start. Finish 4.00pm.
This event is a great opportunity to network with professionals and volunteers from other organisations and share ideas about the possible ways to approach the growing problem of alcohol misuse amongst your clients/service users. The training is very interactive and informal and we hope that you will also have a bit of fun too!
